Hand crafted magazines: We will give a short presentation on our fanzine and then teach how to make their own from scratch with paper, scissors, and staplers. Fanzines can give the voiceless a powerful way to reach a larger audience. For myself, making fanzines was a way to build a community of artists who later became the Antagonist Movement. Instructor: Ethan Minsker, NYC editor of Psycho Moto Zine and author of Rich Boy Cries For Momma and Barstool Prophets.

Ethan Minsker: zine workshop

Ethan Minsker is a visual artist, filmmaker, and writer whose work extends out to multiple communities throughout the united states and internationally. In this film you will see the Artist in action as he speaks to Northeast Magnet High School students about being an artist in NYC and what it takes to be a working artist in today’s economy. Ethan led an inspiring Q and A with the students and then taught a zine workshop as well as a sketchbook session with the students.
